SymXchange API

Instance Services Configuration

System Web Console > SymXchange Web Services – Enhanced > Instance Services Configuration

This document contains a list of all the available services and API versions you can enable to allow clients to make requests for a specific record or for all records in that instance.

After selecting the SymXchange option from the System Web Console menu and selecting a SYM, you can click the Services action. The System Web Console displays multiple pages of available services.

Symitar creates a new API version every release. SymXchange WSDL versions that are no longer supported are removed from the code base and System Web Console.

The SymXchange WSDL deprecation schedule is as follows:

Release Program Update

Before you install a new Symitar release, a review for enabled SymXchange services that are going to be removed is performed automatically.

  • If the review finds any enabled WSDL services that will not be supported in the new release in the production SYM, a message appears stating that the enabled services (to be removed) were found in the production SYM and the release installation will be stopped.
  • If the review finds any enabled WSDL services that will not be supported in the new release in the test SYM, a message appears stating that enabled services (to be removed) were found in the test SYM and the release installation will continue.

Affected WSDL service names, including the instance name and version, are logged. The logs will be stored in a separate /SYM/ONHOST/log/SymXchangeVersionCheck.log.
