Restarting Servers for SymXchange
Restart the servers required to run SymXchange in symop.
You made updates to the SymXchange configuration file and want to update the SymXchange instances.
- From your Windows desktop, double-click the Symitar icon to log on to the Symitar LPAR.
- The System Logon dialog box appears.
- Enter your username and password, then press Next.
- The AIX shell prompt (
$
) appears. - Type
symop
, and then press Enter. - The Operator Id prompt appears.
- Type a valid operator ID, and then press Enter.
- The operator console (
>
) prompt appears. - Type
RESTART
, and then press Enter. - The Restart Selection prompt appears.
- Type the number preceding the Restart SymXchange option.
- The Choice prompt and options appear.
- Type one of the following options:
- If you type
1
, a prompt appears that allows you to specify a SYM. - If you type
0
(ALL Syms), Symitar updates all instances within all the SYMs. The Proceed? prompt appears.
- If you type
- Type
Y
, and then press Enter to proceed. - The operator console (
>
) prompt appears.
