FedWire Reports Received

FedWire Report Received is a jXchange service that is called by the FGA when a message from the Federal Reserve meets three conditions.

The three conditions are:

  • Has a Format Id of FTHBAL (AccountBalanceWithAchReport) and a MSG-ID of FTA596.
  • An unknown (UnParsable) Format Id is received and its content can be parsed as PDF (Print Display Format), which is called an uncategorized report.
  • Has a Format Id of GIF100 and a MSG-ID of GI1020. The FedLineRptType will be GAP.

Message Flow

In jXchange, the FedWire Report Received service uses a typical exchange of MType messages.

Primary Request

The consumer forwards the FedWireRptRcvRq_MType message to the service provider. The message contains:

  • FedLineRptHdr_CType
  • FedLineRptPkg
  • FedLineRptType
  • FinInstRtId
  • LTermId
  • MsgRqHdr_CType

Primary Response

The service provider returns the FedWireRptRcvRs_MType message to the consumer. The message contains:

  • MsgRsHdr_CType
  • RsStat

FedWire Unsolicited Reports Behavior

Consumer Application

The consumer application needs to be prepared to receive an incoming FedWire Unsolicited Reports throughout day. The JHA FedLine® Global Services constructs the FedWire Report Receive request (FedWireRptRcv) message and sends the contents received from the FRB to the requestor. The application needs to understand the Fed PDF detailed report layout provided in Fedwire® Application Interface Manual – Fedwire® Funds Service section 4.1 and section 4.11. The application responds to the request in accordance with the XSD contract for FedWire Report Receive (FedWireRptRcvResponse). The application needs to be prepared to handle any error conditions provided by either the JHA FedLine® Global Services or Fedwire® Funds Service. The FedLine® Global Services attempts to cross reference the unsolicited report to an XSD contract canonical value. The value is provided in the FedLine Report Type (FedLineRptType) element.

JHA FedLine® Global Services Application

The application must be prepared to capture sufficient information for the incoming FedWire unsolicited reports received from the FRB and follow the error failure scenario referenced in the section Items to Ensure Globally when Implementing the JHA FedLine® Global Service Application (FGA). When an error condition has occurred, as defined in the section Items to Ensure Globally when Implementing the JHA FedLine® Global Service Application (FGA), the FGA must be prepared to cache the report package (FedLineRptPkg) so that it can be delivered to a final destination of the package. These reports cannot be retrieved from the FRB once they are delivered in the MQ channel, so they require an exception to the rule for storage of sensitive data. The implementation of this cached data is under the discretion of the development team. The Captured Data table, provided in the section Items to Ensure Globally when Implementing the JHA FedLine® Global Service Application (FGA), provides the guidance for the cached data. A Format-Id of GIF100, FTR041, FTHBAL are provided in the header to represent a FedWire unsolicited report along with a MID-Id of FTI0041, GII0000, and FTIHBAL. The message fields from the FedLine® Wire Services Print-Ln-Size and Max-No-Lns correspond to the contract element. Refer to Fedwire® Application Interface Manual – Fedwire® Funds Service section 4.1 for field description. The first 24 positions are for the report header data and do not need delivered to the consumer's application. The fields following the first 24 positions of the message from the FedLine® Wire Services is wrapped and delivered in the FedWire unsolicited report Package (FedLineRptPkg) element. The following provides guidance for each FedLine Report Type (FedLineRptType) element canonical values:

  • LTermTot - Funds End of Day LTERM Totals report. This package mirrors the Logical Terminal Report Totals (LTermRptTotals) message except the User Correlation Identification field will be blank.
  • Gap - Funds Gap report. The MID-ID is GII0000 and Format Id is GIF100.
  • OpenBal - Opening Balance Load report. The MID-ID is FTIHBAL and Format Id is FTHBAL. The Msg-ID is FTA596.
  • Oth - All other unsolicited reports.

The operation activity is stored in the JHA FedLine® Global Wire Application for tracking to be used for billing procedures.
