Account Add (AcctAdd) is a jXchange service designed to create demand deposit, savings, club or time deposit account. A consumer submits the account ID and type along with the complexes and simple elements containing values to be used for the creation of the account.

The AcctAdd response will contain an <RsStat> element indicating the result of the operation, with a value of Success when completed normally or the operation will return an HdrFault if the provider was unable to complete the request.

Special Considerations

A significant amount of information can be required to open a new account. Providers facilitate a certain set of default information when not provided in the operation request. When requests fail, the provided fault information can be interrogated to determine what elements are missing and or have incorrect values. To help alleviate this process, a consumer may use the SvcDictSrch operation to retrieve information from the provider that identifies required elements and values.

Account types and statuses may vary across the three core types (CIF 20/20, Core Director and SilverLake.) Account types and statuses may be obtained by using the ParmValSrch operation. Additionally, we offer the types and statues within the following portal pages:

Q: Our client has provided instructions to set/waive the paper statement fee by setting the DDPSCOD and DDPSFECOD fields in core through JX. Looking through the IDG docs for SIlverLake, we cannot find any mappings that correlate to these fields. DDPSFECOD does show up, but there is no XML path shown for it, and I get no results back for DDPSCOD. Can you please advise how to set the above fields through jXchange?

A: DDPSFECODE is not mapped in AcctAdd or AcctMod so that element cannot be manipulated. Two elements control the Paper Statement Code, which is similar to how it works in core. ElecStmtType has canonical values of Both-B, Email-E, NA-blank, and Paper-P. Then ElecStmtChgWav has canonical values of blank, Chg-C, and Wav-W.

Q: Core Director We appear to be getting an error related to PrimeRateIdx and are unsure what value would go into that field (135). Can you provide some insight into what are some valid entries for that field and how they would be able to query those values?

A: You can utilize SvcDictSrch to see the allowable values. For example, on the SvcDictSrch Request, they could specify the following fields Note, in this example it is indicating to return the Request fields supported for AcctAdd for AcctType 10 (DDA) for ProdCode PrimeRateIdx:

Q: We are currently creating a Deposit Account and are attempting to implement an "Order Checks" functionality. Is AcctAdd the best operation to perform an "Order Check" functionality?

A: There is not a method to order checks via jXchange. That is a bank only function.

General

Q: Can AcctAdd be used to set User Defined Fields (UDF)s?

A: Yes

Q: One of our customers has their branches organized into different regions and are requesting that we send the region code when opening an account so they can see the branch and region that it was opened in. How do we set a region?

A: There's no way of setting the Region in AcctAdd. The user would need to know which branch was tied to a specific region.

Q: If I had 4 people on an account, would you suggest populating both the AcctTitleArray and the Related customer records, or one or the other?

A: There is a maximum of two additional people on the account through the AcctTitleArray. CustRelAdd business service allows you to add relationships between consumers as well as define the relationship (CustRelRec.AcctRelCode) between consumers and accounts. So, if you wish to also specify that for example one person is a co-signer, another is the guarantor, etc. then you would need to also call CustRelAdd.

Q: CIF 20/20 I am trying to populate the field called collection Officer using CIF20/20 & can’t seem to make it work. Could I get the xPath for this field?

A: There isn't a specific field called "Collection Officer". Instead Collection Officer is added thru OffInfoArray by inputting Collection Officer in CFOFFTXT01 or CFOFFTXT02. By inputting "Collection Officer" into CFOFFTXT01 OR CFOFFTXT02 a Collection Officer’s information gets added for 2020. Below is an example for OffInfoArray, please enter Collection Officer within the OffCodeText element then enter RDS into OffCode.

Q: Can I add and track non-JH accounts using AcctAdd?

A: Yes, you can. Non-JH account records (also referred to as Tracking in the jXchange ServiceGateway APIs) are used for several purposes including programs and held away account tracking. These types of records are identified by the account types, which are created and managed by each institution. These are not the same account types associated with standard JH accounts. The non-JH account is not processed nor are any transaction records associated with them. They are merely for tracking purposes and will be included in a customer’s list of accounts.

Q: Is there something in AcctAdd that would set the controlling owner? Or do we need to set the Controlling owner in two places on that call CustRelRec.AcctRelCode and here BenflOwnInfo.BenflOwnType?

A: No, The Beneficial Owner information is added via the CustRelAdd and will need to be a separate call. Please refer to CustRelAdd API for more information.

Loans

Q: SilverLake and CIF 20/20 Can you tell me what the difference between Loan type L and Loan type O?

A: Type L is for traditional Loan. Type O is for account overdrafts.

Q: With LnAdd, you can request a Borrower FICO Score and Income Amount. What about Co-Borrower FICO Score and Income Amount?

A: Those elements are available for Co-Borrower.

Q: SilverLake and CIF 20/20 What are the values for the LnAdd.LnRealEstateInfo.REOType Field?

A: CIF 20/20 The only supported canonical values are blank, COM, or RES. Blank and COM translate to N and RES translates to Y. SilverLake supports these values too, in addition to SEC and VAC. Just because the contract contains those canonical values doesn't mean that the core supports it. SvcDictSrch will typically provide the canonical values for a given element within a service. For that particular element, the field being mapped to (LNCFPB/PRIDWE) is a one-character alpha field that accepts only Y or N values. So values for that element are either Residential or not.

Q: CIF 20/20 Which jXchange field is used to provide the next payment date of a loan? Is it NxtPayDt or NxtSchedPmtDt?

A: It doesn't look like any Xpath has been mapped for NxtPayDt or NxtSchedPmtDt. If FirstPmtDt is not populated, NxtPayDt is being populated with the OpenDt plus TermCnt.TermUnits. If a date is input into FirstPmtDt, then NxtPayDt should populate with this date.

Q: SilverLake I am testing AcctAdd function and get the following error message and have no idea why. What would cause this?

A: OpenDt element is missing in this case. But the opening date and the maturity dates must match the term. When the opening date and the maturity date are not the same date of the month you will get the error below. Another scenario is which you will receive this message is when the loan term is in days and the payment term is in months.

Please note that this error is categorized as a Fault and can be overridden by passing in the ErrCode in the ErrOvrRdInfoArray:

A: Dates have to be in the correct format. In this case the LnAcctAdd had OpenDt = 8-10-2020, FirstPmtDt = 11-1-2020, and MatDt = 11-1-2030. The program is validating that OpenDt, FirstPmtDt, and MatDt all line up with equal payments based on PmtTermUnits=M.

Please note that this error is categorized as a Fault and can be overridden by passing in the ErrCode in the ErrOvrRdInfoArray:

Q: We are getting Error 290101 due to the <CurtPenCode>. Can you confirm if there are any other fields required in the upload when sending ? Do we need to also send ? If so, does it need to match a description on the core?

A: Error 290101 populates when PrtcpCode=S and CurtPenCode has a value. A loan with PrtcpCode=S cannot have a value in CurtPenCode. If a loan is partially sold, there are essentially two loans, one with PrtcpCode=P and another with PrtcpCode=S. The penalty would have to be on the record where PrtcpCode=P. So the issue with the CurtPenCode not working has to do with PrtcpCode=S and they will always get error 290101 when this is the case. As for CurtPenDesc, it is not needed.

Q: What are the valid values for the LnAdd.LnAcctInfo.BorwInfoArray.BorwInfo.BorwInfoTxt element?

A: The only valid values are Borrower and Co Borrower. The SvcDictSrch operation provides these values by setting SvcDictName=AcctAdd, SvcDictType=Rq, ElemName=BorInfoTxt, SvcDictFilterCode=AcctType, and SvcDictFilterVal=L.

Q: CIF 20/20 For RstrAutoPmt and ProtBalZero, N is value that was returned in SvcDft, but the XSD for AcctAdd says values are true and false. Which are the correct values to send in AcctAdd or LnAcctAdd? Y,N or true,false?

A: All four values are allowed: true, Y or false, N

Q: CIF 20/20 For ChgYrFeeCode and PmtDDANSFCode N is the value returned in SvcDft. Are the only valid values Y and N? Or is this is a field with a list of codes? No records are returned in a ParmValSrch, but the XSD description makes me question just Y and N.

A: Y/N are the valid values.

Q: SilverLake Which field should we utilize for the limit field for revolving debt?

A: If they are referencing a credit limit field, they would need to setup the credit line in LOCAdd, then when boarding the loan they would populate the following fields and the system should then populate the credit limit and be available on the loan. That would tie the loan and line together.

• LnAdd.LnAcctInfo.LOCAcctId - This would be the number of the credit line that would be input in this element when boarding the loan.
• LnAdd.LnAcctInfo.LOCCustId - This would be the CIF number of the line that would be input in this element when boarding the loan.

Q: SilverLake When we send the loan term field, will the payment term or any other fields auto populate, or should we send both the loan term and payment term fields?

A: Both will need to be input.

Q: SilverLake When should we send the borrow array fields (LnAdd.LnAcctInfo.BorwInfoArray) and should we be sending these in place of or in addition to the fields in the CustRelAdd call?

A: This is typically used when your collecting borrower information for reporting to HMDA etc. This would be in addition to the CustRelAdd call. The elements are usually only input when applicable to the loan and/or reporting requirements.

Q: SilverLake How does Silverlake define purchased/accepted coverage in the case of credit life, disability, debt protection plans, etc.? Is there a field to send a code/value back to the core for this?

A: Below are the different elements available for Credit Life, Unemployment Insurance and A&H Disability insurance. We don’t see a business service for debt protection as of yet.

A: To get this field to populate in LNMAST, UserDefCode and UserDefTxt are the elements that need to be populated. For UserDefCode, the user would input the entire value of the User Defined field the FI created in CFPARB/CBFDSC such as "Nickname................." or whatever the FI has created. Then in UserDefTxt, the user would input the value for the User Defined field. More information about User Defined Fields can be found on the User Defined Fields tab of the ParmValSrch operation.

Q: SilverLake UI contains a loan field labeled "Yearly Fee Calculation Code" — is there a way it can be populated via jXchange?

A: It’s part of the <LnFeeArray>. They would send Yearly Fee Calculation Code in the <LnFeeText> element. They can either provide the code in the but if they don’t, it will default from what’s in core.

Q: Which are the values for <TermUnits> within the <LnAdd.LnInfoRec.Term> element for loan creation?

A: TermUnits is a canonical with the following values: Days, Months, Years, SemiMonthly, Indefinite, NA.

Q: Should <PIAmt> be the same as <PmtAmt>, which is used within the <LnAdd.LnInfoRec>?

A: If a loan has an escrow tied to it then PmtAmt has to equal to PIAmt + EscrwAmt, otherwise an error will be thrown. If a loan does not have an escrow tied to it then PIAmt has to be passed in and PmtAmt has to equal to PIAmt, otherwise an error will be thrown. Whether or not a loan has an escrow can be determined using EscrwInq.

Q: You stated that the Overdraft (OD) has a distinct and corresponding loan account which behaves like a LOC. Does that mean we have to create a LOC for each customer that signs up for OD protection?

A: The FI has a few options when it comes to Overdraft Protection. One option is to have a line of credit or deposit account give funds to a separate account or accounts when the separate account(s) requires the funds, and that transfer of funds would happen during nightly processing. A separate option would be for an Overdraft program to be setup in which an account could qualify to participate in the Overdraft program by meeting certain criteria (ex: having a positive balance for the first 30 days an account is open). This 2nd option requires a license key which costs more to the FI. The 2nd option also has more customizable features/notices than the 1st option.

Q: CIF 20/20 We are attempting to upload an OD Type loan and getting this error: Invalid account number, no DDA account exist. Can you tell me why?

A: CIF 20/20 works differently than SilverLake when it comes to OD protection. In CIF 20/20, you have to have a deposit account setup before you can make it an OD account. So setup a deposit account using AcctAdd, then setup the exact same account number using LnAcctAdd or AcctAdd (doesn't matter which service is used).

Q: What causes error 202334 - Unit Reporting Method not valid for loan type?

A: There are a few reasons this error may be thrown. To better understand these reasons, it helps to perform a ParmValSrch for ParmName = ProdCode on AcctType = L. These results will contain a record for "Master Plan LOC" as the ParmValTxt, with the value of that parameter contained in ParmValDetail. Considering these results, here are the various reasons you may encounter this error when performing an AcctAdd/LnAcctAdd:

1. Choosing a Loan ProdCode that is a Master Plan LOC with a ParmValDetail = Y and then LnUnitRptMthd <> MstrPln

2. Choosing a Loan ProdCode that is not a Master Plan LOC with a ParmValDetail = S, N and LnUnitRptMthd = MstrPln

3. Choosing a Loan ProdCode that is a Master Plan LOC with a ParmValDetail = S and then LnUnitRptMthd <> UnitPrice and SpecLndType = true

4. Choosing a Loan ProdCode that is a Master Plan LOC with a ParmValDetail = S and then LnUnitRptMthd = UnitPrice and SpecLndType = false

5. Choosing a Loan ProdCode that is not a Master Plan LOC with a ParmValDetail = S and then LnUnitRptMthd = UnitPrice and SpecLndType = true

Q: SilverLake When creating a loan account we are receiving Fault 200204 and were needing to know how to get the correct values. Would you have an example of values needed?

A: Below are some examples and how to pass in values needed to avoid the Fault. The Fault can be overridden if the values need to be a certain way and they are known not to line up with the core calculation.

Q: Core Director Sending the Interest Frequency Code (Core field 134) to jXchange using TimeDepAdd.TimeDepRateIntInfo.IntTermUnits in AcctAdd. Is this mapped?

A: You have two options for sending the Interest Frequency Code:

Option 1

    <IntTerm>1</IntTerm>
    <IntTermUnits>Months</IntTermUnits>  = Core setting field 134 to a value of 0 represents Month
    <IntTerm>3</IntTerm>
    <IntTermUnits>Months</IntTermUnits> = Core setting field 134 to a value of 1 represents Quarterly
    <IntTerm>6</IntTerm>
    <IntTermUnits>Months</IntTermUnits> = Core setting field 134 to a value of 2 represents Semi-Annual
    <IntTermUnits>Years</IntTermUnits> = Core setting field 134 to a value of 3
    <IntTermUnits>Days</IntTermUnits> = Core setting field 134 to the appropriate number of days, this number of days is obtained from CDTerm

So in other words, while IntTerm is mapped, it is only applicable when IntTermUnit is ~Months~. It is not supported when IntTermUnits is ~Days~ or ~Years~.

Option 2

Pass field 134 as a user defined field instead of passing <intterm> and <inttermunits>, this may be the easier option. Then you would send in the same value that is being passed now 0=monthly, 1=quarterly, 2=semi annual, 3=Annual, etc.. but send 134 in the user defined array instead of sending it as Int Term. It would look like the below example.

Q: SilverLake We have a client that would like us to send the <IntDisp> values for CD/Time Deposit accounts in AcctAdd, when the IntDisp is DepToAcct, PayByACH, and PayByChk. What are the required values?

A: All 3 are below:

• If IntDisp=DepToAcct then IntDispAcctId/IntDispAcctType would need to be populated with an internal account.
• If IntDisp=PayByACH then the following elements could be used to populate where the ACH interest would go:
  • ACHCompDiscrData
  • ACHCompEntryDesc
  • ACHCompId
  • ACHCompName
  • ACHCrAcctId
  • ACHCrName
  • ACHCrRtNum
  • ACHSendPreNoteCode
  • ACHStdEntryClass
  • ACHTrnCode
• If IntDisp=PayByChk then nothing else would need to be populated as an interest check would be cut whenever the interest term is complete. This is handled by the FI.

Q: Sometimes, there is a specific field to show the percentage to be retained. Does it exist in these cores? Otherwise, typically a 24% is retained for US nationals and 30% to non US nationals. Is that the case if no specific field exists? Is B the only TIN Certification code that triggers this backup withholding?

A: The TIN number is the SSN. No need to have a special designator. The withholding rate for alternate customer is found on the element <FedWithAltRate>. This element can be located on the Deposit and Time Deposit account types within the AcctInq API.

Q: SilverLake If we create a time deposit account with RenCode = N, what happens with the account when the maturity date is reached? Do the funds remain in the account? Does interest continue to accrue?

A: If the CD is set to not automatically renew (RENEW=N), once the CD matures, it stops drawing interest and the funds remain in the CD. I'm not sure if a customer would be required to come in, that would be a bank requirement. The interest disbursement settings are for interest only.
