Account Fundamentals
Account Opening
Deposit and Savings accounts can be opened within Digital Core by using the Open Anywhere application. This allows selecting related account entities and their relationships to the newly opened accounts. A product the Financial Institution offers can also be selected to open the account under. Once created, the account will be visible within the Platform User Interface, and can begin receiving transactions from various sources.
Account Types
Deposit: Customer deposit accounts can have money direct-deposited, and interact with numerous, modern payment rails supported within Digital Core. (ACH, Cards, Stablecoin, Transfers)Savings: Digital savings accounts can be offered to customers by the FI, with competitive rates.
Account Balances
Account balances are reflected in real-time as transactions flow throughout Digital Core. These can be retrieved via our Available Balance endpoint, which retrieves the account’s Current Balance reflecting all settled activity. It also shows various Available Balances with calculations specific to the Financial Institution’s configured settings. Hold and float amounts for the Account are also retrieved.
Account Summaries retrieve even more information for an account’s activity, specific to the requested point in time, known as an Operational Period. The Current Balance and balance delta for that period is returned, such that performant calculations can be made for accounts. Account information specific to cycle relative to the chosen Operational Period is also returned, like average balances, debit / credit counts, and how many days the account had moved into its current cycle.
The last cycle date, and various data on recent transaction activity are also returned.
